2015 EAST AFRICA – An anti-government insurgency is sweeping the continent. Local governments have requested the United Nations’ support in combating the rebel forces and pirates terrorizing the coastal areas.

The UN, in turn, calls upon NATO, which responds by sanctioning the a special military task force. The task force is soon engaged in conflict with the insurgents across Africa.

However, insurgency has the advantage of surprisingly advanced weaponry, and effective use of the African landscape in guerilla warfare. It appears that the conflict cannot be resolved as quickly as originally hoped.

Resident Evil 6 speelt zich in 2013 af, enkele jaren na de vorige delen. De game draait om drie hoofdpersonages en hun partners. Dit zijn Leon S. Kennedy en Helena Harper, Chris Redfield en Piers Nivans, en Jake Muller en Sherry Birkin.

Resident Evil 6 is opgedeeld in drie delen, om ieder van hun verhalen te vertellen. Deze zijn los van elkaar te spelen, maar op bepaalde punten in de game komen de teams elkaar wel tegen. Op die momenten kun je Resident Evil 6 met in totaal vier mensen spelen. De rest van de tijd beperkt zich dit tot twee spelers, zowel offline als online.
